I believe Sir Francis Drake, Henry Morgan, and Christopher Columbus were amazing pirates and explores because of the impact they made on the New World. We all know Christopher Columbus "discovered" the new world but the most interesting man would be Francis Drake. Drake outsmarted and out voyaged most of the pirates and buccaneers of his time. At the same time he was a God fearing man. He would take his crew to church and if one would disrupt or cause a distraction in church he would stand up and shoot him dead. He gave buccaneers a differentiation from pirates by doing so. But to be on topic all of these mean started the conquest for wealth. They began the great pirate era in search of gold and land. It lasted for centuries and kingdoms fell and grew over the period of time. It was like a transition between eras.  Because of all the money and influences these pirates brought & without these men starting such a movement who knows where the world would be now.
